Nottoway Wedding | Southern Garden Inspired Styled Shoot

I’m so beyond excited to share my first ever Styled Shoot at the Nottoway Plantation! I’ve been dreaming of doing this shoot for ages and I finally went out of my comfort zone, teamed up with an amazing planner and made it happen. So thankful to Sara with Southern Magnolia Events for seeing my vision and helping me bring it to life in such an organized way!

I literally could go on for days about how thankful I am for the models, vendors and tons of extra hands that it took to make this shoot happen…But I’ll be brief and say it was an amazing team. Their info is at the bottom of this post so check them out individually for more goodness!

This day dawned nice and hot…like most Louisiana September days. It didn’t take long for us to realize a styled shoot and a wedding day are very similar in crazy scenarios. I’ll just be honest and say this day did NOT go as planned. Tons of wrecks on the interstate made arriving at the venue very difficult for everyone–vendors and models alike! We did not anticipate a tropical storm passing through and dumping buckets of rain on us or having a last minute switch of vendors…but these and many more things occurred! Instead of a gorgeous ceremony site underneath the oak trees, we had to transport everything up to the third story porch for rain cover! I’m mentioning all of these things not to tell you our day was challenging but to encourage you. Sometimes the day does NOT go as planned. Most weddings don’t! Having an amazing team behind the scenes WILL make sure things turn out beautifully despite the setbacks you may encounter!

Blake + Lauren are videographers in this area and made STUNNING bride + groom models! I seriously could have photographed their sweet interactions all day! The florists went above and beyond… I could not stop photographing the florals! So thrilled that Le Jour Couture was kind enough to share gowns by Hayley Paige and Pronovias! They were a dream to photograph. So many others made this day possible from hair + makeup to decor rentals and we appreciate them all! I’m especially grateful to my husband and sister who kept things running smoothly behind the scenes with Sara. In case you were wondering how all of the furniture and backdrops made it up three flights of stairs….it was all thanks to them! I hope you enjoy my favorites and we are already excited for the next one! (Start praying for sunny skies!)

A huge thank you to these AMAZING vendors who made this day possible! xoxo!
